Anesha Dexter is a multifaceted flutist and educator whose dynamic career bridges modern and historical performance, arts education, and personal development. A performer of both the silver and baroque flute, she has appeared on stages across North America and Europe, offering solo, orchestral, and chamber music performances marked by stylistic depth and expressive clarity.

Dr. Dexter earned her Doctor of Musical Arts in flute performance from the University of Kansas. Her foundational training includes degrees from Arkansas Tech University (BA), the University of Arkansas (MM), and the Royal Academy of Music in London (MA, LRAM), where she studied with renowned flutists William “Wibb” Bennett OBE and Lisa Beznosiuk. She also studied at the Flute Studio of Trevor Wye in England and has been mentored in masterclasses and lessons by leading artists such as Marina Piccinini, Michel Debost, and Sam Coles, to name a few.

She has built a diverse performing career across North America and Europe, appearing in solo, chamber, and ensemble settings at renowned venues including Wigmore Hall and Covent Garden. Her performance collaborations have included modern and early music ensembles, choirs, and vocalists in countries including the U.S., U.K., Germany, Switzerland, France, Italy, and Canada. She has also performed concerti with ensembles such as the Royal Academy of Music Baroque Soloists, the University of Arkansas Symphony, and the Arkansas Tech Wind Ensemble.

A dedicated educator, Anesha has taught flute at the University of Kansas, and flute, clarinet, saxophone, and music appreciation at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. She also served as a teaching artist in residence at the University of Central Arkansas Community School of Music and continues to maintain a vibrant private and online studio.

While living in London, she contributed to outreach programs through the Royal Academy’s Open Academy initiative, performing and facilitating interactive music education experiences through projects such as the Wigmore Hall Menuhin Project and BBC Ten Pieces.
​
Beyond her work as a musician and educator, Anesha also serves as a music and life coach, and is a former radio personality. She was co-producer and host for Izzy Investigates on KLRE Classical 90.5 in Arkansas, and has been a featured artist at events including the Midwest Clinic in Chicago and the NAMM Show in Anaheim, California.

She performs on a silver Haynes flute with a David Wimberly headjoint and a boxwood Beukers model baroque flute by Simon Polak.
