A versatile musician and educator, In May 2018, Anesha Dexter, DMA, earned her Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in flute performance at the University of Kansas where she studied with flutist, Michael Gordon and David Fedele. She is an alumna of the Flute Studio of Trevor Wye in England, and additionally, holds music degrees from Arkansas Tech University (BA), the University of Arkansas (MM), and from the Royal Academy of Music in London where she earned a Licentiate in Teaching (LRAM), and a master's degree (MA) in performance on the baroque flute. At the Academy, Ms. Dexter's principal teachers were flutist, William”WIBB”Bennett OBE, and early flute specialist, Lisa Beznosiuk. As a result of have attending masterclasses and having additional lessons along the way, she has had many influential teachers. Some of them, in no particular order, are Trevor Wye, Sam Coles, Michel Debost, Marina Piccinini, David Fedele, Lisa Beznosiuk, and William ”WIBB” Bennett OBE, to name a few.
Ms. Dexter has performed and taught nationally and internationally. Her combined musical experiences and collaborations on both the modern and baroque flute include performances with modern and early music ensembles, choirs, and singers in the U.S. and in Europe. As a soloist, she has performed concerti with the University of Arkansas Symphony, Arkansas Tech Wind Ensemble, and on both flutes with the Royal Academy of Music Baroque Ensembles. In 2016, Ms. Dexter debuted at Wigmore Hall with the Royal Academy of Music Baroque Soloist under the direction of baroque violinist, Rachel Podger. She has performed in London's Covent Garden with the Voce Chamber Choir & Voce Chamber Orchestra, in recital at Southwark Cathedral, as well as in orchestra, solo and chamber music performances around London and in the UK, the United States, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, and France.

Ms. Dexter is a skilled musician, instructor, radio personality and flute artist who is passionate about music, education and promoting the arts. She has made artist appearances at the Mid-West Conference in Chicago, Illinois and two appearances at the NAMM show in Anaheim, California as a Conn-Selmer artist for the Avanti flute by Bick Brannen and the Spirit flute by James Galway.
As an educator, she has served as an instructor of flute, clarinet, saxophone, and music appreciation at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, as the graduate teaching assistant of flute at the University of Kansas, and also teaches privately and online. She has also held a position as a guest teaching artist in residence at the University of Central Arkansas Community School of Music.

While living in London, Ms. Dexter was involved with the Royal Academy of Music’s Open Academy program which included performances and creative learning projects ranging from working with the Wigmore Hall Menuhin Project for families, as well as with music students in the London public schools as a part of the BBC Ten Pieces Project, for example. As a radio personality, Anesha was a featured host and co-producer for Izzy Investigates, on KLRE Classical 90.5 in Arkansas.

Ms. Dexter mostly performs on a Silver Haynes with a David Wimberly headjoint, and currently performs on a baroque flute (Beukers model) made of boxwood, by Simon Polak.
